Nurgul's upbringing helped her become a professional actor


Norgul Yesilcay was born in March 1976, in Afyonkarahisar, a city in western Türkiye, with a mountainous character, stunning scenery, and a long history.


Norgul moved as a young woman to the city of Izmir, where she completed her secondary and university education, where she graduated from the Theater Department of Eskişehir Anatolia University in 2001.


Since her childhood, Norgul had great talent, and she loved acting in front of her family, who played a major and fundamental role in pushing her forward. The Turkish star continued her dream, which she started in the school theater, then the university theater, and there she acquired a great talent that was noticed by all the professors.


From the university theater, she was chosen to play an important role in the television series “iki bahar” in 2002. Nurgul did not play a secondary role, but rather was the heroine of the series, and this series was the young university woman’s “window” to the world of fame.

Norgul Yeşilçay's artistic career


Norgul's career was different from her peers, as the Turkish star began her career as a heroine. From her first work, she was able to step foot into the first-class stars, and her fame increased through her role as "Bahar Karadag" in the TV series "Asmalı Konak" directed by Çagan Ermak. In the same year, she starred in the movie Mumya Firarda with Tioman.


In 2003, she participated in the film Asmalı Konak: Hayat, the second part of the Asmalı Konak series directed by Abdullah Oguz.


In 2005, Norgul received her first award, the Best Actress Award at the 12th Adana Film Festival, for her role in the film Eğreti Gelin directed by Atif Yilmaz. After that, Norgul began an uninterrupted path of continuous success and starring in the most famous films, series and plays in Turkey, through which she was able to enter all Turkish homes, and even Arab ones as well, and her fame reached the West, and the Turkish star also received a large number of local and international awards.
